It’s okay not to be okay…

Dear Fellow Blogger

Perhaps you can relate…

There will be days that you hang your head in shame and see tears falling to the floor. It’s going to hurt. These days will touch the most vulnerable parts of your heart and soul. You know, that parts, deep within yourself, that you usually avoid and enclose. There are parts of yourself that you love and then there are parts of yourself that you are most afraid of. Those parts that carry love… old love, new love, lost love.

There will be days that you will drop your crown… There will be smudged make up days… caused by tears you cry. You will also have days that your favorite jeans will no longer fit. Your favorite shirt in your closet may end up as an old dusting rag. Take note: Just because certain things are temporary doesn’t mean that it was less poetic or less valuable.

Then there will be days that you realize – it’s okay! It’s okay NOT to be okay! It’s okay not to have everything together. It’s okay to fall. It’s okay to be angry. It’s okay to feel sad. It’s okay to question life. Some days will bring growth. Some days will bring change. Some days will bring change of character. Some days will bring comfort and healing. Some days will bring laughter!

Accept good days. Also accept days that are worse. Accept life with all it’s inconsistencies and contradictions. Embrace the glorious mess that you are! Whether you wear designer heals or wearing two different socks like me… You are worth it! You’re lucky. You are worthy of love! You are needed. You’re a masterpiece. You are the hero of your own story.
