As a Forty Plusser woman I decided to try blogging. “But why?”is the most common question I am getting asked by my friends.
The beginning – August 2018
I googled a lot on how to start a blog and decided to try out WordPress. For weeks I designed my beautiful(Okay maybe I am the only one who thinks that it is beautiful!) website. It is always a “work in progress”so it keeps me getting exited time and again! It is my own little corner on the internet! How cool!!
I love to write about life. And NO I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL WRITER!! I am just an ordinary woman. For me blogging is a hobby, just for fun.
If I make some money with blogging it will be great too, but making money with blogging isn’t so easy as some internet webpages claims it to be!! Believe me – Everything that sounds too good to be true usually is. Also, if you focus too much on making money with blogging it can become a burden and an obligation. It might be a better use of time to figure out how to target more lucrative – US visitors, for example and also work on building traffic on your site by following these tips: WordPress tips to get more views and traffic – if you are looking to earn more from your site. Okay, I am not near that yet!!! LOL!! Actually I am still hopelessly clueless!
I was very nervous when I posted my first blog(Aug 2018). At that point I did not have any real confidence in myself… I was really afraid!!! What will people think of me, especially people who know me in real life? I wasn’t sure if I could stand criticism. After I published my first post I literally got stomach cramps! I couldn’t sleep that night! What if a person stumbles on my blog and decide that I am a fool? What if they look at my blog design and decide to leave? No likes, no comments…. O well, that can happen for sure. But so what? I went into a total HIGH when I got my first follower – it was definitely one of the most exiting times of my life!!! Haha!
I am not at school where I must pass some academic exam. I can write what I want. Please excuse me for some grammar mistakes!! (English is not my First Home Language). Please don’t laugh at me: Blogging give me a purpose in life. Blogging let me express my feelings. I like to share experiences that other people can relate to, because we as women, all sort of have the same highs and lows. What I know for sure, is that I am not a perfect blogger. I like blogging because I can best express myself through text. Yes, I will always be a bit cautious on what I post on social media. What I noticed is that blogging is a place of like-minded thinkers, writers, bloggers. Bloggers are indeed passionate souls!
Yes, So must I define my blogging success/failure on how many views, how many impressions and how many likes I receive? At this moment I just enjoy this challenge and don’t focus too much on these figures because if the numbers seem bad a person may want to quit blogging.
Wisdom: “There will never be a replacement for that ongoing physical contact. But I don’t think blogging is meant to replace the face-to-face of friendships and meetings. Blogging is a way to keep in touch with a larger group of people on an ongoing basis, in a more efficient way”. Indra Nooyi
