Forty Plusser life! Just another day of trying to figure out life…

So here I am as a Forty Plusser. I am at this point in my life where I rather prefer my own company.  As a once social type of butterfly, I made a 360 degree U-turn.  I just don’t have strength for drama and conflict and two faced friends.  You get the picture??

To me life is all Yin / Yang: Two halves that together complete wholeness. Yin and yang are also the starting point for change. When something is whole, by definition, it’s unchanging and complete. So when you split something into two halves – yin/yang, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. Both halves are chasing after each other as they seek a new balance with each other.

Come to think of it… anyone’s best quality is also your worst quality. The “strong”person may become “too loud”to handle. The tolerant person may be holding out for too long. The sensitive person is usually the one that can get too emotional. The peace-loving person is usually the one that does not want to speak out.

Intellectual people always want to analyse everything first. The effective person want to take over and organize everything. The impulsive human may struggle to get rooted in life.  Stable people are sometimes the boring ones. Creative people may seem confused with life.

Life is not always about wearing the crown of easy traits. Life has a twin brother that has a dark side.  This dark side of life is filled with chaos and burdens.

One of my personality trademarks is my ability to “feel”everything in life. I can almost “see into other people’s hearts”.  I have stopped counting how many people I have lost because I was too sensitive for them, too over-emotional, too complex. You see feelings can be a blessing, but it’s also my “curse”.

It was a long journey to take ownership of my “superpower…”. This light of “feelings” which is also my fire! But today is mine to have and I embrace life and I soak myself in the good and the bad of it. Every person in life has a crown as well as a cross te wear.  People who love you will understand and endure you with all your puzzle pieces.

  2. I can never stand two-faced people. Better to be alone than being around such people. I also realized this only recently!

  4. I like that quote: “Life has a twin brother that has a dark side.” It’s helpful to keep that in mind … On a separate note, I think many of us prefer our own company as we get older 🙂
