As a Forty Plusser I just love this quote! “Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds”. You see: what you focus on, GROWS! Easy as that! Every thought is like a seed that manifests in our reality.
There are days that I find it almost totally impossible to feel happy at all. But other days I am fine. How we choose to spend our time is crucial. It is plain common sense – If we fill up our time with mindless, time wasting activities, we will miss out on growing and learning in life. But I also know this – YOU HAVE THE POWER OF CHOICE. You have a choice to choose positive values and direction.
Let me ask you this question: “How does your garden look? Is it overgrown with weeds? Is it beautiful and inviting? Maybe you have areas in your life that needs attention. From experience I can tell you that it is not easy to grow seeds of peace and clarity if you are anxious all the time. If your mind is filled with baggage and garbage your garden will be filled with only weed. Your are the one deciding what to grow in your garden. I will be honest – it is not that easy to live a mind over matter lifestyle. Sometimes circumstances kill my soul. There are days that I have an ugly, disgustful garden.
There are days that I stress about the future. But you know what? It’s okay. It’s okay to not always be okay. Your mind is like soil. Only you have the power to make those seeds blossom into beautiful flowers. You must feed your mind with positive and quality thoughts as it determines the quality of your life. Your subconscious can grow weeds or it can grow a diverse dream garden. But we are all human. It is normal to worry about life. You cannot feel happy and positive all the time. You must try to keep the negative pests away. If you want a beautiful garden, you must nourish your mind with beautiful thoughts.
You are the one deciding what to grow in your garden. Is it going to be seeds of fears and worries? Dream big and practice patience. You must be kind to yourself. Think good thoughts! Note to myself: Learn to let go in life – otherwise the weeds will start to grow in your mind. You will reap what you sow. This is law. You must choose wisely what reaches the inner garden of your mind. It is not easy to always make those seeds of thought blossom.
As a Forty Plusser I know that you are the master of your own thoughts. Be careful what you allow into your mind. This is total logic: If we don’t nurture our mind and have healthy and positive thoughts, we will have no harvest, only weeds. Our mind is very hungry, so feed it well!
