Can one be content yet not complacent?

As a Forty Plusser I sometimes feel worn out from overthinking and drained from trying to make everyone other than myself happy. There are days that I am so far from content, it’s actually disgusting…  So I question life… a lot!

One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned in life is that avoiding short term pain and chasing short term pleasure only leads to long term misery. One thing I know for sure is that you can push the restart button when you want and also as many times as you want! No rules attached! You go for it!! Almost everything electronic – will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes! So will you! Just unplug and restart you life!

Sometimes we all struggle with motivation, especially when you have to do something scary, different or challenging. There are days that I’m tired of striving for less than I’m worth and killing for cookie crumbs! Overall, most people want to better their lives in some form or another. We all have our own set of goals, dreams and desires. We all have struggles. We all want to achieve various goals. Things don’t always smooth.

Some changes that people want to make may include – Making more money, becoming happier, reduce stress, seeking a better job, getting fit, learning to forgive, living a meaningful life, etc. The truth is, that most days I don’t feel good about myself and frankly I’m sick and tired of feeling that way. I actually don’t have anything to complain about because I am truly blessed in sooooo many ways! So what’s up with me?  Maybe it’s my depression talking…  or maybe I still need to overcome some form of regret?

It is not always easy to change or restart. Challenges migth come in the form of unconscious limiting beliefs, financial restrictions, people who try to block our path or physical obstacles. Yes, I must admit that I would rather stay in my current situation rather than to march into the unknown. I think a lot about life! I came to this one conclusion: When we have an ache inside of us that signals us to change the course of our lives, we will never be happy if we settle for anything less.

Wisdom: You can’t change the ocean or the weather no matter how hard you try, so it’s best to learn how to sail in all conditions.
