Try to find beauty

As a Forty Plusser I don’t always see the beauty in life. Yes, I have to confess: There are days when I just feel bitter, depressed, full of anger(almost rage) and maybe just plain ungrateful! When I am having one of “those days” nothing “dazzle my senses”. I am just grumpy. Not a nice example for mankind at all! Yesterday was one of “those”days. I went for a walk in my garden and stumbled upon this magnificent flower! Tillandsa Stricta, a type of air plant. This plant just breathes air – just like I must learn to just breathe and let life be! My mood immediately spiked from being a horrible person to kind of being “normal”again. Yes, the sight of a beautiful flower did the trick! Not like 100% effective change, but it really made a difference!

That is the trick: Really try to find and admire the beauty in everything around you. We as human beings are drawn to beauty. Beauty is not superficial. Beauty can be found in everything from feelings, sounds, sights and touch. Stop for a second. Admire stuff. We are surrounded by beautiful things but don’t always captivate it. The fact is that beauty sometimes depends a lot on your state of mind. It may be necessary to look inside and find beauty in yourself first! Sounds easy hey? Try to find beauty in ordinary things. Try to find inner peace, try to be calm and try to find peace (not a piece of cake!!).

Our emotional response to certain situations also influence our perception of beauty in life.

Try to cherish beauty and consciously look for beauty around you. You must strive to appreciate things in life. Try to breathe and let the beauty into your life! Try to take a moment each day and let the beauty of life grasp your soul. Try to encourage yourself to go outside and find something beautiful. Try to just listen to beautiful sounds of birds. Try to breathe it in. Try to become quite and still. Try to focus less on materialistic stuff and find little things in life that makes your life remarkable or special. Try do let go of bitterness. Try to just be!
Wisdom: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart”. Helen Keller
Wisdom: “The more often we see the things around us – even the beautiful and wonderful things – the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds – even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less”.
